consequences of the advancement of technology. Essential Question: Identify the benefits and detriments of the advancement
of technology. Lesson: Hidden Figures Students will continue watching Hidden Figures and
after the end of the movie, students will discuss the positive and negative implications
of technology taking over roles humans once held? What role did gender play in STEM
fields in the 1950's and ‘60s? How much have those roles changed today?

Monday, June 1, 2020 Objective: Students will understand the benefits and consequences of the advancement of technology. Essential Question: Identify the benefits and detriments of the advancement of technology. Lesson: Make up day and Hidden Figures In this zoom
meeting students will complete their missing assignments, if kids are up to date
on their missing assignments, students will watch Hidden Figures. Based on an inspiring true story of African American women at NASA in the
1950's and '60s helps shine a light on the need for humans even as technology
continues to automate. Things for students to think about is the positive and negative
implications of technology taking over roles humans once held. What role did
gender play in Stem fields in the 1950’s and ‘60s? How much have those roles
changed today? The movie is rated PG, students are required to have parental/guardian permission for student to view the PG movie. If you do not permit your child to view the movie student will be placed in a breakout room and participate in a Kahoot!! math review. Social Studies Review In
this zoom meeting students will participate in a kahoot!!! that will review the
cumulative material that students learned in social studies starting from the
discovery of the New World to the American Civil War. Students will compete to
gain one of the top 3 spots reserved for those that have answered the most

contributed to the outcome of the Civil War? Objective:
Student will be
able to identify the factors that contributed to the outcome of the Civil War? Lesson: American Civil War In this zoom
meeting, students will learn about the American Civil War learning about the
cause of division in the United States. Students will also learn the effects it
had on the United States after the war the was over. Zoom meeting will start
with a video, then a class discussing things they learned and a question they
may have about the event recording their responses on a google form. Homework: Achieve3000 article. Receive a 75% or higher.

will be able to identify the causes and effects of the War of 1812. Student will be
able to explain how westward expansion affected American Indians. Essential Question: Identify what
caused the War of 1812 and the effects it had on the United States. How can you
explain the conflict between American settlers and Native Americans? Lesson: Westward Expansion and the War of 1812 In this zoom
meeting, it will begin giving an overview of the War of 1812. Students and I will
discuss how westward expansion, creating conflict between the Native American tribes
and American citizens who were moving westward settling on Native American
lands. Students will then
complete a google form that is related to the topic and students will answer

during the period of westward expansion. Essential

Identify the main motivation of why many explorers decided to head out West. Lesson: Early Westward Expansion and Explorers In this zoom
meeting, students and I will watch video about early explorers that explored
the West in the 1800s. Students and I will discuss the reason why explorers
wanted to go out West and put themselves in danger on consistent basis.
Students will then complete a google form that is related to the topic of our
current lesson. Students will interpret key facts in order to answer

able to understand the importance of the Louisiana Purchase. Essential Question: Identify
the benefits the United States gained from acquiring Louisiana. Lesson: Louisiana
Purchase In this zoom meeting, students will learn about the Louisiana
purchase, the history behind its purchase and significance it had in the United
States westward expansion. Students will then complete a google form learning
the benefits that the United States gained from buying Louisiana, the Lewis/Clark
expedition and the hardships that people faced moving out to the wild, wild

May 6, 2020 Objective: Students will be able to identify state and federal
powers. Essential Question: Identify
the glands that are part of the endocrine system. Lesson: State Vs Federal
Powers Discussion In this zoom meeting, students will have completed the
google form, which guided them with videos relating to current events of the
Corona virus and the impact it has had on people, and whether states should
open up. The google form
also provided them with text on the powers that states, and federal government
have and which they share. Students will
have seen videos and formed their own personal statements based on the
questions that came with videos. Students will argue whether states should
return to normal or not and who has the power to return these states back to
normal. Students base their argument on evidence from the video and text

the powers of that state and federal government. Lesson:

and Federal Powers Zoom meeting will
begin with video of current events relating to the coronavirus. Students will
then participate in a Socratic seminar. Students will go
to breakout rooms, watch a video and read a short text identifying state powers
and federal powers. Students will have
to form a personal statement and support it with evidence from video and text.
They will have to determine whether the federal government or the state

(rules) of water safety and compare and contrast the different Personal
Floatation Devices used. TIPS & TRICKS: Remember that rules are instructions that tell you
what you are allowed to do and what you are not allowed to do. Usually rules
are designed to protect the lives of all individuals or help guide us through a

responsibilities in American democracy. Student will be able to
draw evidence from informational text to support written responses. Essential Question: Elaborate on the importance of having a government. Identify
the key reason it is important to use evidence to support written responses. Classwork: Teacher will start
lesson modeling how to use RACE strategy to complete one of the questions of
the Think and Review section of the article. Students will then complete question 6 of the think and
review listing the six responsibilities of a good citizen, with guidance of the

Friday, April 3, 2020 Lesson: The Constitution Objective: Students will be identify how the Bill of Rights was included in the U.S. Constitution. Essential Question: Identify the factors that led the writers of the U.S. Constitution to include the Bill of Rights in the Constitution. Classwork: Step 1: Read the following sections in Week 23 The Constitution.
Step 2: Students will the work on the Preamble activity provided by the studies weekly article. In this activity, students will read the preamble that is provided by the article and rewrite the preamble in their own words.
