after the end of the movie, students will discuss the positive and negative implications

meeting students will complete their missing assignments, if kids are up to date
on their missing assignments, students will watch Hidden Figures. Based on an inspiring true story of African American women at NASA in the
1950's and '60s helps shine a light on the need for humans even as technology
continues to automate. Things for students to think about is the positive and negative
implications of technology taking over roles humans once held. What role did
gender play in Stem fields in the 1950’s and ‘60s? How much have those roles
changed today? The movie is rated PG, students are required to have parental/guardian permission for student to view the PG movie. If you do not permit your child to view the movie student will be placed in a breakout room and participate in a Kahoot!! math review. Year Assessment In today’s zoom
meeting students will complete a Science End of the Year online Assessment.
Students will have two hours to complete test, if more time is needed, it will
be provided. Students can log on

Review In this zoom
meeting students will participate in the cumulative review of what they have
learned in 5th grade science. Students will complete the review on Kahoot independently competing with each other to obtain one of the top 3

Question:
Identify different ways that can keep your risk of contracting a deadly disease
low. Lesson: Infectious Diseases In this zoom
meeting, the lesson will start with a video covering infectious diseases that
have plagued humans over the course over history and how many diseases thanks
to modern medicine helped eradicate some of these diseases that use to plague
human civilization. Students and I will discuss the importance of public health
policies, resources and services that help keep these diseases from running
rampant among our population. Students will then complete a google form that is
related to the topic and students will answer comprehension questions related

May 7, 2020 Objective: Student will be able to understand the endocrine system. Essential Question: Identify
the glands that are part of the endocrine system. Lesson: Endocrine System Escape
Room Zoom meeting will begin with brief overview of the
endocrine system and how it important it is to the human body. Learning about
the different glands and the hormones they secrete and how they impact our
bodies. Students will then participate in an escape room in
which they will have to use evidence from text and videos provided, to answer
questions relating to the endocrine system. With every question correct they

similarities between inner and outer planets. Essential Question: How can you explain the differences
between the inner and outer planets? Classwork: Zoom meeting will
start discussing the name of the planets and what is in the center of the solar
system. Then I will review
the basic operations of the gizmo with students in the solar system gizmo.
Students and I will then work on Activity (Planetary Orbits) working together
to measure how to long it takes each planet to orbit around the Sun, while

data to generate appropriate explanations based on that data. Essential Question: How does analyzing the data help
formulate the conclusion? Classwork: Lets Investigate Teacher will start zoom meeting reviewing the steps of the
scientific method with a PowerPoint. Students and I will then have discussion
why it’s important to repeat experiments. We will discuss how it is important
to collect data, draw conclusions and use evidence to support our conclusions.
Students will then participate in
student tutorial that goes into greater detail of the importance of

Essential Question: Identify the impact that the removal of a food source can have on animals. Classwork: Step 1: Students will log on to their explore learning accounts. Step 2: Students and teacher will work together manipulating the populations of the deer, bears, trees and mushroom.
